“After the Great Patriotic War in Leningrad were brought a lot of various small grace dogs of different colours with a fine silky coat. They were without any documents which could prove their lineage and breed. They might have been picked up because of pity and their unusual affinity. Moreover such dogs were small in size what was very convenient for transportation. By selecting and rejection of all dogs of white colour there were got and strengthened a coloured coat which is rather firm. RTB as a breedy group was selected by selectionists of the Leningrad section of the decorative dog-breeding in the beginning of 1950. The author of these article and cynologist Y.M. Zvonareva contributed significantly in this breed. She had a wonderful dog called Lyu-Lyu. Lyu-Lyu was of coffee colour. This dog was an ancestor of all RTBs. There was conducted a careful selection of square format or almost square format dogs with curly or slightly wavy coat and of course coloured. Thanks to this work there were got small dogs (20-28 cm) with a small round head on the beautiful high set neck, the stop is pronounced to the enough short muzzle; eyes are large, round and not bulging, expressive. The coat is abundant, silky and with good undercoat. The tail is curled on back and is covered with rich coat. The colour of nose, eyelids and lips is the same as the basic colour of the coat.
The standard for this typy group of dogs was first written in the Leningrad section of the dog breeding in 1964, and in 1966 the standard was approved by the All-Union Kennel Council under the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR. The first dogs of this breed were shown at the 2nd All-Union Show of dogs in 1967 in Moscow. The largest group of these dogs are concentrated in the clubs of Moscow and St. Petersburg, while single specimens are found in all the clubs and societies of the former Soviet Union. Tsvetnaya bolonkas are very popular among fans of decorative dogs of cheerful disposition, Not get dirtycoat and small size.
